Senior Development Manager, Apex Clean Energy
Shelley is the leader of wind, solar, and battery storage projects in Illinois. She facilitates the team that meets with local landowners and community leaders to answer questions about the project timeline and economic impact to the area. Bringing a project from development stage to operations takes many key stakeholders working in partnership. Shelley provides context on the level of investment Apex Clean Energy makes into communities and the local effort needed to construct a commercial size project. Previously Shelley worked in Minnesota, Michigan, and North Dakota where she helped Apex establish Discovery Wind, a 400MW project.
Andrew Stetter
Development Manager, Apex Clean Energy
Andrew serves as Development Manager in the MISO region in Illinois at Apex Clean Energy. His journey began with a Magna Cum Laude bachelor's degree in Sustainable & Renewable Energy, with a minor in Construction Management, before joining the Apex team. His professional experience includes the development of 300+ solar projects for homes, businesses, farms, and non-profits across Illinois from 2017 to 2023.
Andrew thrives on educating diverse communities about the ongoing transformation of our global energy systems toward renewable sources. His work at Apex Clean Energy reflects his unwavering dedication to driving this transition towards a more sustainable future for all.
Mandy Gillum
Office Manager
Mandy Gillum works on behalf of Apex Clean Energy as the Office Manager for the Goldrush Apple Wind project. She supports the Development Manager, Land Coordinator, and Land Agents while working onsite at the Princeville office. Her background is in the medical field supporting patient care and her 5 years of medical office management experience has prepared her well for this important role.
Angie Hummels
Public Engagement Field Manager
Angie is the public engagement field manager for the Goldrush Apple Wind project. A central Illinois native, Angie is grateful for the opportunity to raise her three daughters here with her husband, Dan, who is a Peoria Public Schools teacher. She earned both a bachelor’s of science and an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. Angie worked for 12 years as a reporter and editor for the Peoria Journal Star, covering public safety and Peoria County government and its rural municipalities. She left journalism in 2012 to serve as director of public relations at a local nonprofit, followed by 2 years as a speechwriter at Bradley University, and then a decade in marketing and communications at Caterpillar Inc. She joined Apex’s Illinois Public Engagement team in March 2025, proud to work for a company dedicated to affordable, reliable American clean energy and job creation with tremendous local benefit.
Ray Hoover
Public Engagement Manager, Apex Clean Energy
Ray Hoover leads Apex Clean Energy’s public and community engagement efforts for projects throughout Illinois. Ray holds a degree in Political Science and Communications from St. Cloud State University and has more than 15 years of experience in government and as a community organizer for nonprofits and campaigns. As a Public Engagement Manager, Ray works closely with local elected leaders, community leaders, landowners, and residents to gather local feedback, answer common questions, and work with communities to help realize their opportunities for renewable energy development.
